- Provide a fiber optic transmitter that shall support the long-haul transmission of HDMI video, stereo audio, and RS-232 control
- Long distance signal extension of video, audio, and control over multimode fiber optic cabling
- Video input requirements
- Shall provide one (1) HDMI Type A connector for digital video signals with embedded audio
- Shall provide one (1) HDMI Type A connector with buffered loop-through
- Shall support computer video up to 1920x1200, including HDTV 1080p @ 60 Hz
- Audio input requirements
- Shall support two-channel embedded audio on HDMI input connector
- Shall provide one (1) 3.5 mm stereo audio mini jack for unbalanced audio
- Shall support audio embedding onto an HDMI signal
- Shall provide audio gain and attenuation adjustment capability
- Shall provide one (1) toggle switch on front panel for selection of digital or analog audio
- EDID communication requirements
- Shall include Extron EDID Minder® technology to automatically manage EDID communication between connected devices
- Shall provide one (1) EDID selector rotary dial on front panel
- Shall provide one (1) toggle switch on front panel for selection of 50 Hz or 60 Hz vertical refresh rate of the resolution selected by the EDID selector rotary dial
- Control requirements
- Shall provide one (1) bidirectional RS-232 2.5 mm jack on front panel for setup and configuration
- Shall provide one (1) bidirectional RS-232 three-pole captive screw connector on rear panel for RS-232 pass-through
- Shall provide one (1) two-pole captive screw connector on rear panel for a contact closure output to trigger an external control system for alarm notification in case of fiber link loss
- Interconnection requirements

- Transmission requirements

- Shall provide a fiber optic signal transmission distance capability of 2 km (1.25 miles) over OM3 or OM4 laser optimized multimode fiber optic cabling
- Shall support an optical loss budget of at least 7 dB between transmitter and receiver
- HDCP requirements

- Shall include Extron Key Minder® technology to authenticate and maintain continuous HDCP encryption between the input and output devices to ensure quick and reliable switching
